GGF Day

Well as I highlighted in my previous post today is the day that Gaelic Games Football is released. My copy is in the post and I probably won’t get it until the middle of next week so I have been searching for reviews. This short review is rather positive:

“Great graphics, excellent gameplay, you can do it for the county”

However the review here isn’t so good, and a user on the following site thinks it’s “absolutely shambolic“.
Anyone come across any other reviews?

  1. Whoops I see you have that review already. Can’t find anything else on it. Things don’t look too promising though!

  2. The graphics are superb for the stadiums and jerseys. Pearse Park, Longford shamefully ommitted though, maca ;) . The gameplay is decent but not great but then as a first try, it was never going to be perfect. Long range points scoring is difficult and 10 minute games usually see a socreline of about 1-3 to 1-2 or soemthing like that. Still, i enjoy playing it simply because Gaelic Football is my favourite sport by quite some distance. Seeing the might of new York beat Tyrone 0-5 to 0-1 was quite rewarding to!

  3. Hey PS
Pearse Park ommitted? Surely that should have been one of the first included? :)
Yea, I think it’s important to remember that it’s a first try. Hopefully it’ll sell plenty and there’ll be a second attempt ina year or two. Are you happy enough with it so far? I read that tackling is a bit dodgy…

So it IS realistic, then! ;-)

PS> Looking forward to the hurling version…

  5. Whatever about Pearse Park being omitted from GGF, at least ye’ll get to play de Dubs there for real next season. The way it’s being announced in the sports bulletins this morning, you’d swear it was the greatest hardship for Dublin fans to have to cross the M50.

  6. It may be only an hour down the road but tis in de middle o’ the sticks Gerry, an arduous trip for Jackeens to be sure to be sure :)
