Via the rebel smoker, Damien Mulley is mulling over the idea of creating an Irish Blog Awards. Not a bad idea, there’s certainly a good wide range of Irish blogs ar líne, although you can already pick out some likely winners like Slugger, Twenty or Richard Delevan mar shampla. Still, it might throw the spotlight on some lesser known blogs.
Categories aren’t fixed yet so if you have suggestions you should get in touch with Damien. If D happens to read this (that’ll make 4 visitors this month, i’ll have to pay for extra bandwidth) I suggest:

2. Best Blog on a Lesser Known (less popular, more specific?) Subject
3. Most Opinionated Blogger (why not?)
4. Most Informative Blog
5. Best post from a blogger who has completely lost touch with reality
6. Best contribution from a blog entitled Ráiméis in a leading role without the use of stunt doubles

Somebody clarify something for me, are these awards to be an internet event, or will they take place during some sort of meet-up?
Kevin, My understanding is that there would be some sort of “meet-up”, but I don’t know how workable that will be. I’d say it’ll end up being an ‘internet event’
