A Malaysian man, 72 year old Kamarudin Mohammed has remarried his first wife which makes this his 53rd wedding! Can you imagine, 53 weddings?? “I just love seeing beautiful women” – there are easier ways ya know! Talk about a glutton for punishment!

It’s bad enough that the EU dropped Wales from the map but just now I noticed that the BBC is dropping parts of Ireland. Yet another example of the Anglo-Saxon foe eating away at the Gaels, those bastards!*

A bank in Hong Kong (or rather their contractors) made a serious fuck-up when they sent 83 security boxes full of goodies to the scrap yard to be destroyed! They were supposed to throw out empty boxes during the refurbishment of one of the banks branches but somehow managed to take full boxes from the vault. A suspicious mind might think it was a cunning robbery disguised as a mistake … then again maybe it was just simple stupidity.

Ireland takes on France this saturday. Latest good news is that Trezeguet will miss the game due to injury. Septembers news (I don’t have any updated info) was that Chelsea midfielder Claude Makelele quit the team, as have Zinedine Zidane, Lilian Thuram, Bixente Lizarazu and Marcel Desailly. And with Patrick Vieira suspended this is an excellent opportunity to wallop the French!! Olé olé olé and all that!

Being a big fan of U2 and having so much admiration for Bono for exploiting his fame and harassing political leaders over their failure to act against the problems in Africa I hunted down the text of Bono’s conference speech.

Just reading about the new procedures which visitors to the US will be subjected to as of today. These prodecures apply also to us, members of the VWP (Visa Waiver Program). Under this new scheme you will be photographed and fingerprinted and your information stored. After October 2005 you should have a “smart” or “biometric” passport which contains unique details about you; fingerprint, picture of the eye etc. Now add this to the fact that the EU has agreed that airlines can hand over passenger information such as credit card numbers, address or email. Don’t know about you but it makes me feel very uneasy. Travel to the US can be difficulty enough and now this? Bugger!
