Holy feck. Just spotted on my favourite Finnish blogger‘s site that a Finnish war veteran died during a Finnish Independence Day Parade in the town of Jyväskylä when he walked in front of an Army tank! Someone managed to catch it on video and they even have it up on YouTube [close up picture from Iltalehti]. It’s not clear what exactly happened but it appears to have been a suicide, according to Finland for Thought (great Finnish blog but some serious knobs hang out there). Sad.

This vet walked straight in front of the tank and threw himself under the tracks.
Army ambulance arrives to scrape him off the tarmac and less than 3 mins go by before the tank chokes the crowd some more and “on with the parade”.
Speaking of Finnish Indep. day: There was lots of speculation as to Lordi’s appearance at the castle party hosted by La Presidente. would he come dressed as the freak as he said he would or cave to the will of the upperclass?
In the end he chickened out and sent his wife instead.
