Changes needed at United

Troubled times continue for Manchester United. Following their drubbing by Middlesbrough at the weekend they went down against Lille tonight in the Champions League thanks to a Milenko Acimovic goal. Their CL hopes are now hanging by a thread and they aren’t doing much better at home either sitting in 7th place in the Premiership 13 points behind leaders Chelsea.
Keano hit the nail on the head the other day when he said that a clear out is needed in January. Keano made the comments during an interview with MUTV in which he tore lumps out of many of the United players. The interview was subsequently withdrawn by Utd’s Chairman before it went on air.
As fellow Utd fan The NI Magyar put it, Keane was “censored for telling the truth“. United fans have come out in support of Keane, even tonight in Lille fans chanted Keane’s name at the beginning and end of the game. Keane was only saying what most of us are thinking. The last few seasons have been crap, United have under performed the entire time and serious changes are needed if they are to challenge for the Premiership or even the Champions League. The changes should start at the top, Ferguson needs to move on … I hear there’s a job opening on the other side of the Irish sea.

  1. Yeah I think Fergie’s time may be up and if they lose to Chelsea that could be the hammer blow for him.

Wouldn’t it be great if he was the next Ireland boss?!

Actually i’m not sure anymore. I think he has lost the abilty to motivate players, to get the best out of them. He’s a ton of experience all the same so maybe he’d be good, I dunno.

  3. I’m not sure he would do us any favours as the next Irish manager either. He seems to have lost his direction completely and we don’t need that kind of baggage at the moment!

  4. With all the money that Chelsea have at their disposal, it is hard to see how any other club can compete with them in the Premiership.

Maybe if United was to be bought by a fabulously wealthy tycoon, they might do better…

  5. Changes needed? What changes?!

    Manchester United 1 Chelsea 0 :)

  6. Yeah, that result has made a big difference. Still, Fergie is going shopping.

  7. They were blessed on Sunday (nice, but flukey goal) and I think Ferguson must have been very relieved.
I’d hate him to get the Ireland job, but then I’m no so keen on Venables getting it either. I stuck a fiver on Martin O’Neill with Paddy Power (he’s 40-1).
