Remember Andy Townsend wearing an England Shirt at euro '88 and a year later declaring for Ireland. He went on to have a fine international career. The reality is we have a small pool of players and if indivduals are willing to play for us then we should pick them if they are good enough. When the FIFA rules changed on eligabilty we could have got Zat Knight, Kevin Nolan and Gary Mcsheffrey. These players would have boosted the squad had Brian Kerr persued them. You can be sure Mick Mccarthy would have been more pro active if he was still in Charge at the time. Finally best of Luck to Steve Staunton. That Granny rule is a tricky one.
