Thanks for the comments, it’s good to get another view. I’m still waiting for my copy, it’s in the post.

You’re right there, it shouldn’t really be compared to PES or FIFA, they have had years to develop games and have obviously hugh resources behind them. I’ve been thinking about this in the past week, I have FIFA 2003 at home, this is probably EA’s 6th or 7th soccer game yet there are still some big problems with the gameplay so for a first game I wouldn’t be expecting too much from GGF. It would be nice though if a bigger comany took it over and perhaps got some Irish guys to work on it.

I have found that with some practice it is a really enjoyable game, especailly when play with friends (not just against the computer)

It is difficult at first and the manual is poor but stick with it and you’ll slowly become addicted.

Some people have been pretty harsh, I think, with their comments. It’s not fair to compare it tho the FIFA of now or PES. Try and take it in context. I think we should view it as a first attempt and as they go this is pretty decent.

I agree the IRgurus (taking their AFL games into account) were not the best the best choice but with the right developers and software house this could be an awsome game so don’t let it die before it’s begun.

As it is I’m enjoying it and hoping it will get a big enought market to encourage an improved sequel. There is even talk of a hurling version.

I’m actually glad the players names havent been included, since I looked at a copy in Game the other day and noticed the GPA are not involved.

I take maca’s point that it is good to see the game on the market, and I suppose we have to all remember how primitive the first versions of games in all the other sports were before they involved.

Maybe after a while someone like EA will take it on and then we can all be raving over GGF2010.

I’m very disappointed with the new GAA playstation game. It’s bad enough that the players names haven’t been included but when you can’t even save the changes you make to the squads it’s doubly frustrating. The commentary by Miche�l O’ Muirchearthaigh sounds very shoddy to say the least when you compare it to the commentary in FIFA 06. The game itself looks more like Aussie rules than normal GAA football. There’s no exciting extras included like say the Manager Mode in FIFA. All in all ‘Gaelic Games: Football is ultimately summed up by the ethos of the GAA itself – amateur.

Just got a note from Sendit, my copy of GGF has been shipped !!

It’s a cool feature alright UI, not sure if i want to be looking at my ugly mug staggering round the field though.

I’ve just read that you can put your face into the game using EyeToy. That’s pretty cool.

PS, I’m not expecting too much anyway, still nice to see one of our games on PS2. Twould be nice if a good company like EA Sports made a game, perhaps they could do “EA Hurling Championship 2006″?

Initial reports aren’t great Maca. Just going by a discussion board where a few people have claimed to play it.
