		<description>For the record, I&#039;m aware of his failings as well.  I was actually hoping to test the water in the Blogosphere but unfortunately irishblogs.ie is down so only my regulars saw my choice!

The thing about Burley is although he has had a few dodgy seasons, so had Charlton and McCarthy before they got the post.  The point was, they had proven they could do it at the highest level, and a post like the Ireland boss deserves someone of this calibre.</description>

		<description>Totally agree about Ferguson &amp; O&#039;Neill.  I&#039;m a tad unsure about Burley though after reading some more info about him. His success has been quite mixed but I suppose when compared to Steve Staunton or Frank Stapleton he&#039;s a much better choice.</description>

It&#039;s a pity Martin O&#039;Neill isn&#039;t available but I think Burley isn&#039;t a bad idea. At least he&#039;s got experience!</description>
