Sounds like your PC has switched your keyboard layout. It happens to me once in a blue moon, the layout switches from Finnish to American or something. Easy enough to switch back.

On WindowsXP, Start Menu >> Control Panel >> Regional & Language options >> Languages Tab, under "Text services & input languages" click "Details" and it should show you what Keyboard you are using.
On other windows systems it is pretty much the same, I think.
